Tan Chin Boon 陈振文
1972年毕业于南洋美术专科学校,师承新加坡艺术先驱陈宗瑞、施香沱等人。自此踏上专注于水墨与篆刻的艺术旅程。
陈振文的水墨作品技法纯熟,风格鲜明。他善于在传统笔墨中融入个人的宁静气质与当代构图的大胆张力。画面巧妙运用留白,展现出中国画“以少胜多”“意在言外”的神韵,于简约中见高雅,于空灵中启想象。
除了水墨创作,陈振文在篆刻方面亦有深厚造诣。他的印作充满生趣,常带幽默、讽刺与机智,体现出艺术家敏锐的观察力与诙谐的思维方式。
Graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1972, where he studied under pioneering artists such as Chen Chong Swee and See Hiang Toh. Since then, he has devoted his artistic journey to Chinese ink painting and seal carving.
Tan's ink paintings reveal a refined mastery of traditional Chinese techniques, infused with a distinctive personal style. His works are marked by a sense of serenity and introspection, yet they embrace bold, contemporary compositions. Through the thoughtful use of negative space, Tan exemplifies the expressive power of Chinese ink painting, achieving elegance through simplicity and inviting viewers into a space of contemplation and imagination.
In addition to painting, Tan is an accomplished seal carver. His seal impressions are full of vitality, often laced with humour, irony, and wit, reflecting a keen intellect and a playful spirit behind the artistry.
