Eduardo Navarro 爱德华多 • 那瓦罗

Eduardo Navarro is a leading figure in contemporary Panamanian expressionism. His multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, performance and installation, marked by bold visuals and emotional intensity. Grounded in recognisable forms yet charged with otherworldly energy, his work has drawn comparisons to Francis Bacon.

Since receiving the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Award in 1994, Navarro has gained international recognition. His iconic untamed horses, symbols of spiritual freedom and rebellion, have evolved through expressive brushwork and layered fabrics. In 2019, during a residency in Brooklyn, he introduced the concept of "Coocons", reflecting a refined balance between form and content. His work has been exhibited globally and honoured with numerous awards, including a bronze medal at the 1996 Osaka Triennale.
